Chania, Crete

Greece is blessed with a unique light throughout the year, measuring an average of 12 hours of daylight and 7.3 hours of direct sunlight across the season board. The climate is Mediterranean, with mild and rainy winters and hot and sunny summers, which last almost for six months.

The weather is generally warmer in the southern regions and the islands, particularly in Crete, which boasts 9 months of sunshine and a yearly average of 18.5˚C. Heading north, in big cities and on mountains, the climate turns continental, with colder – or even snowy – winters and mild, rainy summers.
